New Gospel of Matthew Church School Curriculum Released!

“Who Do You Say That I Am?” A Gospel of Matthew Sunday School Lesson Plan

The Gospel according to Matthew presents a full picture of the person of Jesus Christ, revealed as the Incarnate Son and Word of God and the fulfillment of the Old Testament prophecies concerning the Messiah. Our young people are often presented with competing versions of who Jesus Christ is, and we have a sacred responsibility to share with them the Christ that was revealed in the scriptures, preached by the Apostles, and dogmatized by the Fathers. “Who Do You Say That I Am?” A Gospel of Matthew Sunday School Lesson Plan invites students to experience a complete, compelling narrative of the Scriptural Christ, chapter by chapter.

In this comprehensive and interactive program of fifteen lessons, younger students will identify and explore the attributes of Christ and how we are connected to Him. Middle through late elementary students will compare the differences between truly knowing Jesus versus only knowing stories about Jesus, and why it matters (answering the “So what?” question.) Students in junior high and high school will consider how previously memorized facts about the historical account of Jesus actually has profound application in our daily lives and can be developed into a united, fulfilling relationship with Him.

By pursuing the answer to the question of who Jesus Christ is, we find hope in this life and look forward to the promise of an eternal future with our Lord.
